Keystart
Keystart is an initiative of the West Australian Government, owned by the Department of Housing, set up to assist West Australians into affordable housing.
Keystart is about "Low Deposit" lending, we do not require the usual 5% deposit, as is the case with more traditional lenders.
You're about to join over 65,000 Western Australian households in becoming a proud homeowner, many of whom would not have been able to buy without the assistance of Keystart. That's how many Keystart has helped since it began in 1989. Along the way that has represented a total of over $6.8 billion in low deposit home loans. More than that, it has given Western Australians the opportunity to improve their lifestyle, establish themselves and their families and enjoy the benefits of the community in which they live.
Who can we assist?
Keystart is available to all West Australians purchasing an owner occupied property in Western Australia who meet our criteria.
We are not limited to First Homebuyers, Keystart can assist all homebuyers be it their second or subsequent home. All Keystart loans are for owner occupation.
We lend in all areas of Western Australia including the country regions.
See Your Keystart Loan for more details.
GoodStart
The GoodStart shared equity scheme
helps Department of Housing tenants and non-first homebuyers into home ownership.
Since 1997, GoodStart has assisted over 1600 families to make
the transition from renters to proud homeowners.
Aboriginal Home Ownership
Since 1995 the Aboriginal Home Ownership
Scheme has assisted hundreds of Aboriginal people and Torres Strait
Islanders to enjoy the community benefits of home ownership. The
Scheme is run by Aboriginal people for Aboriginal people. They
have a unique understanding of the practical help and support
that is required by Aboriginal customers.
Access Home Loans
Access Home Loans were established
on the basis that disabled people should not be disadvantaged when
it comes to home ownership or home improvements. The scheme allows
people on disability support and their carers who receive a pension
to purchase a minimum 70% of the property with the Department
of Housing and Works owning the remaining share.
Restart Loan Scheme
Sometimes not everything goes to plan
and this is where Restart can help. The scheme is aimed at helping
borrowers from other lenders who run into difficulty making their
repayments through unemployment or other unforseen circumstances.
Rather than be faced with a mortgagee sale and the loss of their
home, borrowers can refinance their home into a Restart loan for
a period of up to 2 years until their financial position improves.
After 2 years the loan reverts to a Keystart loan. Counselling
is also provided along the way to provide practical advice and
support as well as to help borrowers negotiate a suitable arrangement
with their previous lending institution.
Safety Net
The Safety Net Scheme will help you
if your financial position worsens after your Keystart loan has
been issued. It's all about helping people to get back on their
feet by providing assistance to avoid the loss of their home.
Even in a case where you might not ever be able to continue to
make the same repayments prior to your circumstances changing,
Safety Net might assist.
